Chroma Collection: Stairs

Sometimes it's the structural pieces of a home that get the least attention. When deciding what to do to your stairs you'll usually be debating on wood vs. carpet, natural vs stained, runner vs. bare. Why not propose orange vs. blue or multi-coloured vs. monochromatic ?  Here's a round up of some fun ways to add some chroma to your travels from one floor to another.Would you consider adding some spice to your stairs?

Verve Violet - Sherwin-Williams, SW6979

Inspired by the lovely Easter weekend, today's chroma fix is Verve Violet. Purples have always been related to royalty and power in history, but now and days it can be used a calming colour, grounding a space when used properly. A good example is shown below. The violet rug has created a central focus of conversation area. The rug also allows for pops of violet to accent the room in the vases and ottoman. How would you used this Verve Violet?

Daily Chroma Fix

Navel - Sherwin-Lewis SW6887
Since painting an accent wall orange in my previous bedroom I've been obsessed with the colour. Orange is said to make promote your appetite and judging by my late night eating habits I'd say that's correct. So here's an image of a kitchen, the room psychologically better suited for this colour. What do you think? Any other place you'd like to see this Navel orange?

Welcome!

Hi everyone!

I'd like to you welcome you to my Collecting Chroma blog! First time blogger here and I'm excited to explore the addiction that is blogging!! I am a Visual Artist and a current Interior Decorating student and if I were to pinpoint my design motto and infatuation it would undeniably be COLOUR! As much as I love my achromatic schemes, there is just something too satisfying in a bright palette or punchy accent. So join me as I shed some light on chromatic collection of interests.
